Introduction to the Ingredients of Scented Candles

Scented candles are becoming more and more popular, and everyone regards scented candles as a symbol of lifestyle. However, many users have little understanding of scented candles, thinking that they are just scented candles or fashionable home furnishings, and do not know much about their ingredients, usage and differences with other candles. How are scented candles different from regular candles and skin care candles? Let’s learn more about the ingredients of scented candles!

Introduction to the ingredients of scented candles
1. Soy Wax
Made of natural materials, it has less impact on the environment and does not release harmful substances during the production process, making it safer than synthetic candles. Soy wax does not produce black smoke, dirt and residue when burning, and the burning time is long and even. The disadvantages are higher price, poor softness, rough surface and low transparency, but it produces less smoke when burning and does not produce a large amount of black smoke.

2. Paraffin Wax:
Mixed alkanes refined from petroleum easily produce harmful gases and residues when burned, and the burning time is short. The appearance of paraffin wax is smooth, highly transparent, white or light-colored, but it often produces a large amount of black smoke when burned. Therefore, the use of paraffin scented candles requires caution to reduce the impact on health and the environment.

3. Beeswax:
Beeswax is a high-quality natural fuel made from beeswax secreted by bees. It is made through collection, cleaning, melting, filtering and pouring. The process is simple, relatively environmentally friendly and natural. Beeswax is clean, flammable, and can be burned at high temperatures to help diffuse fragrance and moisturize, providing a healthy burning experience. But the production is complicated and the price is higher.

4. Vegetable Oil:
Extracted from different plants, the slow-burning texture is soft and can be mixed with other ingredients to change the burning time and texture. The price is usually relatively affordable and the materials are easy to obtain and use. However, scented candles made from vegetable oils have a shorter burning time and may release smoke and organic matter. But candles made from vegetable oils are still an affordable, natural and sustainable option.

5. Olive Oil:
Olive oil is a natural high-quality oil extracted from olive fruits. When making candles, olive oil provides a very soft texture and slow burning characteristics without releasing smoke and harmful substances. Rich in nutrients and antioxidants, it is good for your skin and body. But the price is higher and the burning time is shorter.

6. Palm Oil:
Palm oil has a hard texture and high stability, making it suitable for long-burning candles. However, the cultivation of palm oil can have negative impacts on the environment, including deforestation and destruction of wildlife habitats, so candle manufacturers are choosing to avoid using palm oil and try to use sustainable palm oil to protect the environment.

7.Grape Seed Oil:
Grapeseed oil is a light vegetable oil with a soft texture and fresh aroma that does not release smoke or harmful substances when burned. Grapeseed oil is rich in nutrients such as antioxidants and vitamin E, which are good for the skin and body. However, scented candles made from grapeseed oil are more expensive and may not be stable enough, requiring them to be mixed with other ingredients.

8. Canola Oil:
Rapeseed oil is a versatile candle ingredient that can be used to make different types of candles, such as scented candles. It provides an even burn and fresh aroma at a relatively affordable price. However, mustard seed oil has a lighter aroma, may not provide a strong aroma, and may react with other ingredients and need to be mixed with other ingredients. Mustard seed oil is a natural vegetable oil that makes candles burn brighter and more stable, but is also more expensive.
